2D Mainsheet Control – a Key Difference with Radiomaster…!!

When we started the advanced transmitter programming project, I was generally of the opinion that you could program more features on Radiomaster than on the other brands… you can get your fingers in closer to the code….

Then the day before the IOM Worlds, our very own top Kiwi (Dave L !!), brought me a question about 2D Mainsheet control on his Radiomaster Boxer.

David wanted asymmetric mainsheet adjustments for left and right joystick moves. For the sake of argument, he wanted the mainsheet coming in 1cm on a left move of the stick, but to go out 2cm on a right move of the joystick. Nice – and I was confident we could do it.

… and there we were just 24 hours before the first start and I couldn’t get his Radiomaster doing it though. Very cross I was – AND confused… as I was sure I had that idea working at one point.

(You can see a very nice little YouTube from Craig showing this working on his Spektrum.)

Looking back at my notes it looks like, sure enough, I have done the code for this idea on Futaba and Spektrum… but not for Radiomaster. (see our Futaba and Spektrum online manuals bu clicking on RADIOS in the menu bar above)

A BIG surprise to me. So far this morning I still haven’t got this working on Radiomaster for David.

If you have managed to do it on your Boxer or TXnn, could you write in with the answer and we’ll publish it?? Contact us via the “Contact” page of this website.
