Sunday 28th December – Reservoir Full

First thing to note – lake pretty full, all 80 feet depth of it!!

We were expecting five today, but exceptional coolness plus light breeze caused duvets to win out. Only PH and DC turned out. RJ hit immediate problems on the M25 and turned for home!

PH was testing his new Proteus, with focus on the rig today – spreader adjustments being the key item of the day. PH sounds very pleased !!

Next weekend is the Hampton Court Charity Race.

Marblehead Games 8 at Gosport – and the Tide Has Come In !!

I reckon we had three Datchet Radio Sailing members at Games 8 – Nigel, Phil and Chris were expected. It was a little fresh though 🙂

Nigel with his F6 won it on countback – wahoo to Nigel !!

Meanwhile back at the Club, the Reservoir is almost up to the brim now!

IOM Club Racing – December 14th

The Club was very busy today !

As a Club, the RYA has granted special status for the youth training and GBR squad programs. With it goes one of the RYA’s RIBS which is jolly useful. It also means that you can turn up on a weekend like last weekend, and find it buzzing with young people and parents. Fantastic!

In addition to Club dinghy and keelboat racing, the GBR Youth Squad seemed to be out in their 470s and Optimists – and handful of which appear in the photo above – along with six IOMs Club Racing!! They are the small dots on the left side the photo !! The environment agency has given permission to pump some more water in – and simply huge amounts have arrived in the last few days.

All good.

In the afternoon we retired to the Clubhouse for 2026 IOM Worlds Planning – good fun!!
