Here are the final results from this weekend’s successful Marblehead UK Championships at Datchet.

A good size entry – 33 including three from Europe.

First day, pretty blowy with B and occasional C Rigs in evidence. Second day pretty much A Swing rigs for the whole day.

We got 20 heats, 10 races done. Results very, very close at the top with Darin Ballington a brilliant champion for 2024.

Club Racing Sunday 26th – Marbleheads!!

Above are yesterday’s results.  A great fleet turnout!

As you can see we had 9 skippers though not all at the same time,… this lead to some confusion in the 8 races we managed.

Following race 6 when there was some doubt about finishing order I took over start line and finishing and awarded myself average points for doing so.  With the larger entries we are now getting for Marbleheads and IOMs we need to seriously consider one off and then race a rota, ….not only for finishing but also for starting.

It is difficult to watch/position your own boat in a larger fleet as well as watch for premature starters in the last 10 seconds, at least that is my excuse!!

Despite the forecast the rain by and large kept away and the wind settled (mostly) in direction for the mornings racing in the most part in sunshine.  Here’s to hoping we get the same conditions for the following two weekends
