General Advice around Marblehead stands, that pretty important piece of kit

Stands – Why You Might Consider a “Universal Option”

It’s worth thinking about your stand requirements for a couple of minutes.

Do you potentially want to ‘park’ more than one class of boat in your new stand?

Are you tall, or have challenges bending much? (Applies to me!) Then you might like a taller stand.

In the photo above, you’ll see that when I put my foam keel protector on my One Metre, that the foam is long enough to rest against the legs of the stand.

There is another really smart solution… check out the “Stands” category of this website.

Stands – The Aluminium Option

Wandering around any Club or Event, you are going to see aluminium stands. This photo is of a very popular Marblehead stand made by Dave Potter.

If a rolled up towel, or a classic wooden stand, is not for you, you might consider one of these and not really go wrong.

Classic Stand

Whether you buy a boat new, or previously used, it’s pretty normal that you don’t get a stand with it.

The really cool looking top competitors seem to make do with rolling up a towel, placing it on the ground, then resting the boat on that. Not too comfortable with placing your new pride-and-joy down on the ground like that? You’ll want a stand !!

We’ll publish a few alternative ideas in the “Stands” category of the website for you to think about. This is a photo of a reasonably classic wooden, home built stand.

There are some other ideas around too. See the “Stands” section.
