Very very close !!

Despite a breezy Saturday and a breezy Monday, Sunday morning itself was a pretty glassy view!! Many coffees were drunk and it was extremely sociable, I must say….but we didn’t race. As usual, the talk was of sailing, sailing, sailing!!
Craig and Nigel were undeterred. To get Nigel tuned up for the IOM Worlds in Gladstone, Australia, our super-heroes spent hours and hours out on the water chasing the breeze, practising manoeuvres and testing the state of tune. It was extremely interesting to see them in action.
Results from the weekend.
On Saturday four tens made the first start, including Richard Uttley’s new Spectre P8 for the first time. It was a tricky day on the north course with a flicky NW’ly/ breeze with hole and at times large direction shifts. In the 8 races we had four different race winners. The racing was always close and the final results were;
Phil 10 points and 3 wins
Richard Uttley 11 points 3 wins
Hugh 12 points 1 win
Graham 15 points 1 win.
Sunday saw no racing for the IOMs as we were greeted with a glassy calm with random short lived airs from random directions. After an hour and a half we abandoned racing for the day, though 3 brave souls, Craig, Nigel and David Lindsay did some testing for an hour or so.
