Marbleheads 31st August…!!

Simply gorgeous day at Datchet today!! We all had a terrific time in B rig, almost C rig breezes. Honestly – so much fun! Marbleheads are fantastic on this kind of day. Our new member, CW (who drives two hours each way) had simply the best time!!

Still in the holiday season but five of us turned out for racing. The water level was perfectly manageable (see photo above ). We could pretty easily launch off the main pontoon in the photo then walked along the beach toward the camera so that the large flat concrete plateau there was our control area.

Both DA and RJ managed to find a magnetic attraction with marker buoy warps closer to the surface than we expected! Much expertise was on hand to get us unstuck.

Next weekend we have the Ten Rater Rankings for two days. Spectators and Volunteers for race team welcome!

Results Overall:-

Phil H (F6) 10 pts

David A (grunge) 13pts

Chris W (Indie) 16pts

Graham H (F6) 19pts

Richard J (F6) 23 pts

Marblehead Sunday 17th August !!

If you adore gorgeous blue sky weather, this was the day! Quite a good A Rig NNE breeze, with a five boat fleet. We launched off the newly positioned main pontoon, which worked well. Quite a few “gear” challenges, but we had a pretty great time – lunched was called at around 1pm and we were ready for it 🙂

Marblehead Sunday ….!!

We had simply sensational racing today. Greeted by a fantastic breeze, B Rig (threat of more later as another named storm sweeps across) racing was quick and properly exciting. Eight skippers gathered for coffee and eventually seven raced. Great to see our two new members.

Results pretty close! Only one point separating Nigel and Hugh at the top!

Richard had to DNC quite early as his fin started to take on its own cute personality, …and is now with Dr Graham for therapy.

Graham was scoring us on A-Fleet as part of our trial to extend our choice of scoring tools. Looked good !! More on that subject soon.
