Did you fancy a try at the inverted curve, “downwind” reaching mode mentioned in the fabulous Ken Read DF95 YouTube video??
I thought it was a very clever idea and was kicking myself for not thinking about it myself in previous months. So on Sunday, I gave int a try for four races.
Amazingly,…. I hated it ….. and have reverted now to a straight line graph so my P2=25. P3=50, P4=75. It’s going to be a matter of personal preference, isn’t it?… But I think I’m too much of the beginner to get my brain engaged on getting the most out of it! I’m pretty sure I saw Craig on video last year saying that he uses a linear curve for both rudder and mainsheet.
Anyway – let us know if you have tried it out and tell us what you think by using the reply facility on this website entry.

Sorry for those that had the delays on the M4. It was probably not a good drive home for any of us.
Yesterday’s IOM racing with 9 boats and 9 races in a variable NW’ly wind both in direction and force gave some interesting races. We had 4 different race winners, so Craig did not have it all his way, with Nigel actually achieving more wins, but some poor results lead to a higher score. Phil and myself shared one win a piece. The racing was close most of the time, even if the fleet often got split in two due to being caught on lulls/flat spots.
This concludes the Spring Series for all Classes. I will send the Series results later.
